Fortnite’s end-of-season (and perhaps the end of the map) live event has finally been assigned a definite time.

This Sunday, October 13th, at 7 pm in the UK, you’ll have the opportunity to witness the spectacular fireworks – precisely the moment when this season is slated to conclude.

This is rather unconventional, as Fortnite’s end-of-season live events typically occur a day or two prior to the actual end of the season. Once Fortnite’s live events come to an end, the gameplay simply persists.

Conversely, this event is planned to immediately precede the moment when Epic shuts down its servers, takes the game offline, and installs the files and Battle Pass for the subsequent season.

Countdown clocks are now conspicuously displayed on TVs throughout the island, and above the rocket launch pad at Dusty Depot.

It undoubtedly implies that something earth-shattering is going to transpire on the game’s island, rendering it unplayable thereafter – and there have been numerous indications that we are approaching the endgame for it.

After 10 seasons, and a victory lap tour of map locations, both past and present, in recent weeks, it now seems like the opportune moment to bring this chapter in Fortnite’s history to a close. There’s even a suggestion that it will ultimately emerge from its two-year “Early Access” phase.

What exactly will take place? Well, it all appears to be set in motion at Dusty Depot, as the Visitor’s new rocket prepares to launch and reset the game’s timestream. The game’s initial audio logs are scheduled to be added this week to bring some of its enigmatic lore into a coherent whole.

Regardless of what occurs thereafter – whether it’s a new island or a completely refreshed version of the current map – it’s probably advisable to visit your most beloved locations one last time while you still have the chance.
