Hearthstone is set to receive an astonishing addition of over 100 cards in its upcoming add-on, as Blizzard has disclosed.

It’s no simple task to be in the green zone, particularly when you’re up against proficient Hearthstone players.

Hearthstone’s production director, Jason Chayes, informed Polygon that the next Hearthstone update “will be our first expansion” and it “will boast a significantly larger number of cards. We’re referring to more than 100.”

Chayes emphasized that Blizzard is intensely focused on determining the optimal pace for an ever-changing project like Hearthstone. “We genuinely aim to ensure that the pacing is excellent not only for seasoned Hearthstone players but also for newcomers entering the game,” he stated.

He further added that he was delighted with the manner in which the Curse of Naxxramas single-player expansion was released in weekly installments rather than as a one-time rush that people quickly lost interest in. “We had this vision of hosting a month-long celebration, and it truly turned out splendidly.”

Chayes also mentioned that Blizzard is contemplating the release of more single-player DLC and new game modes for Hearthstone, though these developments might be some time away. “There is the concept of expansion and introducing new modes where players can engage in diverse ways of playing,” he elaborated. “This is not something we’re considering in the extremely short term. It’s something that is a bit further down the line, as we wish to continue enhancing the existing modes.”

Our Tom Bramwell is an avid Hearthstone enthusiast and was largely content with The Curse of Naxxramas expansion. In his review, he remarked that it “appears well worth possessing,” despite having a few complaints about its single-player content.
