For a long time, Skull Town has been a beloved hotspot among Apex Legends players. However, it seems that this beloved landmark has undergone a permanent transformation. As shown in the trailer for season five, the massive pile of bones is slowly sinking into a watery grave. Now I’ll have to find another place to meet my demise.

The latest trailer follows the previous Stories from the Outlands, which introduced Loba as the next legend. In pursuit of Revenant and seeking revenge for her father’s death, Loba ventures into a hidden facility beneath Kings Canyon. There, she discovers rows and rows of simulacrums (apparently spare Revenant robot models). Despite attempting to destroy Revenant’s head by initiating a self-destruct sequence, her anger gets the better of her, and the head is whisked away to another location called Psamathe. Fortunately for Revenant, he narrowly escaped being lobotomized.

In her attempts to escape the collapsing lab, Loba showcases a couple of potential abilities that haven’t been fully detailed by Respawn. It appears that she can teleport by throwing a bracelet, and she can also steal loot from a distance, which means she’ll likely be the player on the squad who greedily collects all the loot. The trailer also depicts her melee skills using a staff, and some fans have speculated that this could be an ability, while others think it might be her heirloom item.

Regarding Skull Town, the chaos in the labs didn’t do the settlement any favors, and by the end of the trailer, it can be seen sinking into the ground. Whether the entire town is gone remains a mystery, but we can definitely expect some significant changes to the area.

In any case, we won’t have to wait long to find out what’s been altered, as the next season starts on May 12th.
