Microsoft’s Xbox: Assassin’s Creed & More News

Microsoft’s Xbox Series X gameplay reveal livestream, scheduled for Thursday, will offer us the first genuine look at Assassin’s Creed Valhalla in action.

In a fresh blog post published this afternoon, Microsoft has presented a meticulous plan regarding when you’ll obtain more information about Xbox Series X and its games for the remainder of the year. It has also reaffirmed that both the console and its high-budget launch title Halo Infinite are still on course for 2020. Just one month ago, the status of the latter seemed a bit uncertain as teams shifted to working from home.

In July, Microsoft will showcase its own array of Xbox Series X games currently under development across its 15 studios worldwide. Essentially, this will serve as Microsoft’s substitute for its major E3 reveals. We should catch a glimpse of titles like Halo Infinite, Rare’s Everwild, and the not-so-secret projects currently in the works at Playground Games and The Initiative.

Beginning with this week’s Xbox Series X gameplay reveal, Microsoft will now hold monthly livestreams to provide more details about its upcoming console, its games and studios, as well as the future of Xbox Game Pass and xCloud. This initiative has been dubbed Xbox 20/20.

This week’s Inside Xbox episode – set to be broadcast at 4 pm UK time this Thursday, May 7th – marks the first installment of all this. Anticipate gameplay of third-party games such as Assassin’s Creed Valhalla running on Xbox Series X, and a “wide assortment of others”, encompassing AAA and indie titles. (It’s worth noting that Microsoft has the marketing deal with Cyberpunk…)

Microsoft will also determine the games that will utilize its cross-gen Smart Delivery feature (allowing you to obtain a more enhanced version of the same game on Series X if you own it on Xbox One, and vice versa). It’s a safe bet that the cross-gen Valhalla is one of them.

Finally, Microsoft just released this… Could it be our first sight of the Series X startup screen?
