A dataminer has unearthed additional references to Ruby and her Demon Spawn hidden within the files of Evil Dead: The Game. Ruby, who originates from Ash vs. Evil Dead, has not yet made an appearance in the main game. The absence of this character from the roster came as a surprising oversight to some, especially considering the abundance of other characters from both old and new Evil Dead stories.

Now, thanks to a second set of datamined voice files from our hero roster, it appears that she will indeed be making an appearance. It seems that in these particular scenarios, she is seemingly siding with the Demons, although it is not entirely impossible that she might also show up as a survivor. Hopefully, we will receive an official announcement soon.

As TheGamer notes, there are also new mentions of heavy weapons. It sounds like we will be getting a minigun, a harpoon, and a flamethrower. Additionally, the final single-player missions have allegedly been uncovered through datamined images that seemingly indicate Eligos possessing Kelly. If this is accurate, the mission might be titled “Adios Eligos” and require you to collect chicken, leeches, and holy water before exorcising Kelly at El Brujo’s Hut and then facing off against Eligos.

The latest asymmetric multiplayer horror game, Evil Dead: The Game, has sold over 500,000 copies. This milestone was disclosed during Embracer Group’s recent investor presentation, which confirmed that since its release on May 13th, half a million people have signed up to play as – or alongside – the series’ steadfast Ash to fulfill their objectives and confront hordes of Deadites.

“I’ve spent a couple of mornings with Evil Dead, and from the start, it looked the part,” Donlan wrote about his experiences with the game thus far. “It was enjoyable, and it looked like Evil Dead – so many Ashes! But it didn’t always feel like Evil Dead. It felt like a multiplayer horror game, albeit a decent one, albeit a decent one without many basic accessibility features. The same holds true for what I believe is the single-player content. I set out as Ash and quickly found myself in serious Deadite trouble. The woods looked perfect – but it felt like many other horror games.”
