There’s a Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth patch on the way, with the goal of enhancing the graphics in the game’s Performance Mode and addressing the “quite terrifying” lighting on some characters’ faces.

When speaking to One More Game, the game’s director, Naoki Hamaguchi, stated that the Rebirth team had received a considerable amount of feedback regarding the graphics in the Performance mode. Fans were curious about whether any improvements would be made.

“We’ve heard you, and we’re currently working on an update patch to enhance this aspect,” Hamaguchi said, adding that he doesn’t believe the release date will be too far off.

According to Hamaguchi, a specific focus of this upcoming Rebirth patch will be the lighting on the characters’ faces.

“We’ve received feedback from players that in certain situations, the facial lighting makes some character shadows appear extremely scary. So, that’s one aspect of the update we’re working on,” he informed the publication.

The director did not provide any additional details about what else this patch will offer.
