Aksy Games has announced that A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda, the PC platformer/shooter developed by Extend Studio and Orgio Games, is making its way to XBLA in an enhanced edition called A.R.E.S. Extinction Agenda EX. This enhanced version comes with upgraded audio and visuals, as well as new levels, enemies, bosses, weapons, abilities, control schemes, and leaderboards.

More than two years ago, when the original game first came out, former EG scribe Kristan Reed had mixed emotions about it. He praised its soundtrack, environments, weapons, and bosses. However, in his A.R.E.S. review, he pointed out that it “quickly undoes all of its good work with a hopelessly persnickety jump system that turns routine platforming negotiation into a tiresome war of attrition.” He also added, “If the team can perhaps fix a few niggling issues via an update, A.R.E.S. will be well worth a look,” before giving it a 6/10. It remains unknown whether the jumping controls have been improved, but perhaps the new abilities and content will compensate for it.
