A Baldur’s Gate 3 enthusiast has thrown down the gauntlet with an astonishing speedrun that involves a rather unique aspect – achieving a sex scene in under an hour.

The speedrunner, known as Weedmoder, currently holds the world record with an impressive time of 50 minutes and 30 seconds. They have even shared a video of this remarkable run online (thanks to VG247).

Naturally, this speedrun entails engaging in a particular encounter with the bear, or rather, the druid Halsin. This means successfully completing his romance questline, a feat that can only be accomplished in Act 3.

It commences by leaping through The Nautiloid right at the beginning. Then, in the early stages of the game, the grove is saved, and the “Shadowboxing” technique is employed to bypass Act 2 and head towards a rather furry and exciting climax.

In their video, Weedmoder reveals that those testing the run initially had difficulties in precisely determining which choices and encounters would impact Halsin’s relationship status. However, now that this has been clarified, we can anticipate more Bear% runs as speedrunners continue to optimize the route.

Bear% has now become an official category on speedrun.com, and it comes as no surprise. Considering the enthusiastic response from the crowd when the game was revealed, with Astarion and Halsin in bear form getting rather intimate, it was only a matter of time.

Of course, this isn’t the first sex-related speedrun of the game. Sex Any% speedruns have been circulating for a while, with Githyanki Lae’zel proving to be the easiest character to engage in a romantic encounter with. Speedrunner Mae managed to achieve this in under two minutes.

Nevertheless, the game’s latest patch from November 2nd has adjusted the current strategies. Larian’s patch notes state that “you must also have proven yourself worthy through your actions”.
