Hades makes his way to mobile via Netflix

Supergiant’s iconic dungeon crawler Hades will be released on mobile next year exclusively for the Netflix app.

Although there is no specific release date yet, it will be available for iOS devices with a Netflix subscription in 2024.

The game will feature fully-customisable touch controls designed specifically for this version, and a Bluetooth controller will also be compatible.

According to a Supergiant blog post, the company collaborated with Secret6 on this version, which has assisted other studios such as Naughty Dog, Interior/Night, and CD Projekt.

There are no plans to bring the game to Android devices.

Also coming next year is Hades 2, which will enter early access. The sequel will centre on the Princess of the Underworld using dark sorcery to take on the Titan of Time.

Other classic indie games are also set to arrive on the Netflix app, as announced during last week’s Geeked Week virtual event.

Braid: Anniversary Edition will be released next year to commemorate the 15th anniversary of the game, as previously reported.

Death’s Door and Katana Zero will also be added to the Netflix app, but their release dates are currently unknown.

The Geeked Week event also provided an update on the Devil May Cry anime, showcasing some design sketches of a younger Dante, who appears to be somewhat inspired by the prequel Devil May Cry 3: Dante’s Awakening.

“My goal is to create one of the best shows on the Netflix platform,” said series creator Adi Shankar. We will have to wait until next year to find out.
