Halo 2: Anniversary, the remarkable remaster of Bungie’s iconic Xbox shooter sequel, is finally set to grace Steam, the Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass for PC next Tuesday, May 12th, as part of the Halo: The Master Chief Collection. Recall that initially, The Master Chief Collection arrived on PC last December. However, unlike the original 2014 Xbox One version that had all the major series entries up to that point, only Halo: Reach was included at launch. But in March, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary was added, bringing it to two games. And next week, it’ll expand to a three-game bundle, with Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4 still to come to complete the collection. Halo 2: Anniversary will be available on May 12th. It offers players the option to enjoy both the enhanced Anniversary visuals and the original Halo 2 visuals, and like other games in the Master Chief Collection on PC, comes with features like 4k UHD, 60+ FPS, and support for ultra-wide monitors. There’s also customizable mouse and keyboard and adjustable FOV. For those keen on a comprehensive PC gaming experience, they can either play through Xbox Game Pass on PC or purchase the Halo: Master Chief Collection for £29.99/$39.99 USD on Steam and the Microsoft Store. And if it follows the pattern of Halo: Reach and Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 2: Anniversary is likely to be available separately at a standalone price of £6.99/$9.99 USD. Microsoft previously announced that Halo 3, Halo 3: ODST (Campaign), and Halo 4 would complete the PC collection by the end of the year.
