Mark of the Ninja: Special DLC & Insights

Klei Entertainment’s remarkable 2D stealth game, Mark of the Ninja, is set to receive its initial dose of DLC in the form of the Special Edition add-on, which is slated to be released on August 16th on XBLA and Steam. [Editor’s note: We were initially misinformed that it would be coming out on the 15th. We sincerely apologize for the mistake.]

For a price of $4.99 / 400 Microsoft Points (approximately £3.25), this expansion will introduce one fresh prequel level, two novel items, and a new costume that emphasizes on items and non-lethal takedowns.

Moreover, it will incorporate an optional developer’s commentary track to every stage, including the newly added one. Game director Nels Anderson informed me, “It’s an abundance of commentary. It amounts to about 25 pages written by various members of the team. Commentary is something I wish more games would incorporate, so I’m extremely thrilled to bring this to the forefront.”

We here at EG have a great fondness for Mark of the Ninja. In his review of Mark of the Ninja, our Dan Whitehead described it as “an embarrassment of riches.” He concluded, “A game that never becomes complacent and offers substantial replay value, Mark of the Ninja is a much-needed boost for Live Arcade’s lackluster summer lineup.”
