Modern Warfare 2 Fix Soon, COD Updates & More
UPDATE (Sun 30th October): Infinity Ward has affirmed that the update is now in effect.
“Players in groups should witness a considerable enhancement,” the studio stated in a concise update on social media.

Modern Warfare 2 developer Infinity Ward declares that it will be “carrying out a mitigation measure” to tackle crashes that take place when players are “in a group” later today.
In an overnight tweet, Infinity Ward confirmed that it is “aware that some players [are] encountering crashes when in a group” and invited players to “stay tuned” while it investigates the cause of the problem.
A few hours later, Infinity updated the message and although it did not provide a specific deadline for when the issue will be resolved, it did confirm that a solution would be arriving at some point on Saturday 29th October (afternoon/evening for Europeans, morning for Americans in the Pacific Daylight Time zone).
“Thank you for your forbearance. We will be implementing a mitigation for crashes related to being in a group tomorrow morning (PDT). An update will follow.”

Wondering what has occurred to your ping? You are not the only one. It seems that Modern Warfare 2’s ping system has been deactivated in an attempt to control “wall-hack” cheaters.
Within hours of reports that a ping bug on your death screen could enable you to track a single player for the remainder of the game emerging, developer Infinity Ward silently disabled the ping system. At the time of writing, there has been no official statement from developer Infinity Ward that the ping has been disabled nor any indication of when it might be reinstated, but for now, it appears that the ping system is only accessible in private matches.
